Children’s Trust

Youth Offending Service

Co-ordinating Youth Justice Services, using a case management model and integrated partnership approaches to prevent offending and reduce re-offending by young people aged 10-17 years who are subject to Final Warnings and Court Orders.
Voluntary Sector Development and Grants
-
Developing the Council’s relationship wit the voluntary and community sector including the Compact.

Providing grants to voluntary and community organisations and seeking funding for projects.

Support young people in development projects and in the distribution and allocation of funding.
Adult Education

Providing adult education courses, including Skills for Life (SfL) and ESOL courses.

Providing family learning courses in schools.

Providing courses for businesses and the council.

Providing UK Online courses.

Providing careers guidance and advice for courses and work.
Work Based Learning

Offering opportunities for learning and preparation for employment for young people pre- and post- 16.

Offering training via apprenticeships for young people and adults aged 16-25 years.

Engaging with employers to support workforce development and address skills shortages.
Integrated Youth Support

Working with young people aged 13-19 years to support their personal and social education, through the provision of Centre-based, outreach and project activity and through developing positive activities.

Providing impartial information, advice and guidance to young people aged 13-19.

Delivering accredited outcomes to recognise achievement by individuals.

Reducing the number of young people who are not in education, employment or training when they leave school and up to the day before their 20th birthday.

Minimising the number of young people “not known” to IYSS.

Supporting vulnerable young people, including teenage parents, young offenders, young people with LDD and care leavers, to engage with mainstream provision.
